Boys & Girls Club of Easton is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit agency, incorporated in 1974 under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and registered as a charitable organization. The Club is a youth and family service agency formerly located in the Delaware Terrace Housing Development in Southside Easton, now operating in the Southside at Cheston Elementary School and in the West Ward at The Easton Teen Center.

The Club is governed by its Board of Directors made up of community and corporate leaders, government officials, and professionals from the Easton area and surrounding municipalities. The Club employs a full-time professional Executive Director, Resource Development Director, Program Director, and Art Director.

The Mission and Vision of the Club was redefined in 2006, and states:

Mission: “The Boys & Girls Club of Easton will enable all young people, especially those who need us most, and their families, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.”

Vision: “Teaming quality leadership with people and programming, we will be an affordable, accessible, fun, youth-driven club that helps members constructively channel their lives through academic, cultural, athletic, health, arts enrichment, and spiritual programs resulting in educated, skilled, and moral citizens and community leaders.”

The City of Easton is a growing urban community with a population of approximately 26,000. Easton has the lowest per capita income of all 63 municipalities in the Lehigh Valley, and 32.3% of all persons living in poverty in the greater Easton area are children. While the Club strives to serve all children in the Easton area, its programs focus on those most in need. Around 45% of the Club’s members are residents of the five public housing developments in Easton, 75% of the members are low-income, and 66% are minority.

During 2007 1,642 youth members (Ages 5-19) attended Club programs, with many additional youth members affiliated through sports programs such as Lacrosse and Soccer and attending our Open Houses held throughout the year. The Club serves many other children throughout the community through its outreach programs, programming in schools and collaborative projects with local agencies. The Boys & Girls Club of Easton is a member agency of the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley, and financial support from the United Way helps to offset the Club's operating costs. The Club's programs are assisted by the help of many volunteers from the community, including Lafayette College and Lehigh University.

In January 2007 the Club opened the Easton Teen Center, located at 1101 Northampton Street in Easton’s West Ward. The Teen Center a.k.a. THE CLUB serves teens ages 13 to 19 years with a diverse mix of arts and humanities programs provided by the Boys & Girls Club of Easton and in collaboration with our partner agencies and community volunteers.

Although independently operated, the Club is a member of Boys & Girls Club of America. The National organization provides extensive programming materials and professional training for the Club's staff and Board of Directors. In addition, in 2004 the Club became affiliated with The First Tee Jr. Golf Foundation.

This Club is dedicated to assuring an enhanced quality of life for all children as participating members of a richly diverse small urban society. In pursuit of its mission, the Club provides innovative programs and services intended to develop in all its members, good physical and emotional health, excellent vocational skills, good character and leadership abilities, and to develop the FUTURE STAR in every child.
